What to Expect
Welcome to Dearborn United Methodist Church. We invite you to learn more about what to expect on this page. We warmly invite you to join us for worship or any event that interests you. We hope this page answers some of your questions and gives an understanding of what to expect when you arrive at our church.
Where to Park:
The church has a parking lot beside the building (where the car is parked in the picture). Most attendees park here and it is available to everyone. We reserve parking on Sunday mornings alongside the building for guests and also for those with mobility issues.
Entering the Church
Our main entrance is located in the middle of the building. The sanctuary, education wing, fellowship hall, and restrooms can all be accessed by entering here.
The white doors lead directly to the sanctuary.
Both entrances are handicapped accessible.
At each entrance, Sunday morning programs are available along with copies of the latest newsletter and greeters will welcome you and help you with any needs.
Sanctuary & Worship
When you enter the sanctuary, you are welcome to sit wherever you like, no reserved seating here! We usually leave the front middle pew empty for children's time.
We have Bibles and hymnals on the back of each pew for use during the service. We do use TV's in our worship to project hymns, Bible verses, and for special messages that require visuals or sound. Worship is traditional in style and we sing hymns accompanied by piano. Dress is casual and comfortable, shorts in the summer and jeans in the winter are common.
We serve Holy Communion (Lord's Supper) the first Sunday of each month. Gluten-free bread is available and all are welcome to receive the bread and juice.
We hope you will join us in worship with God and his son, Jesus Christ.
Starting Oct. 6th we are offering Pathway Worship starting at 9:30 a.m. Pathways Worship is a praise filled, family friendly, informal worship service that is a path to hope, a path to belonging, and a path to full life. Worship begins with a lively music set and continues with prayer and a message taken from God's Word. Children have their own short message with the Pastor and then they are welcome to go to a Sunday school class or stay in worship with their parents. Following the service adults and children can come together to enjoy coffee, juice, and other refreshments.
